\nBelow\u00a0two poems from the\u00a0to be released\u00a0book in May 2016 by \u00a0~Keith Alan Hamilton~ published by Inner Child Press \u00a0–\u00a0Peace Out Poems about My Abnormalities Normality<\/a>. \u00a0The ups and downs of a super charged mind \u2013 depression and notions of life\u2019s end, socially embedded predispositions and inhibitions brought back to light out of the darkness. \u00a0To create dialogue and nurture a cooperative, PRO-HUMAN spirit that emerges a healing for the continuance of a more PROACTIVE life. Artistically expressed through Images with Words by social activist, mystic, performance artist ~Keith Alan Hamilton~ Dedicated to Madeline Sharples, her son Paul, Regina Walker, her sister Dolores, Team S.O.L.E.S \u2013 those they remember, and the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walks.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you donate to one of these 2 Out of the Darkness Overnight walks<\/a>\u00a0Keith will send you a signed copy of his book. He needs to raise a $1,000.00 for each 16 mile walk.<\/p>\n

Keith\u00a0will do these two walks as a part of Team S.O.L.E.S. \u00a0He’ll do one walk with Madeline Sharples and the other with Regina Walker. Two of his\u00a0dearest friends on planet earth. \u00a0Both Madeline and Regina have\u00a0their own stories to tell and understand how important it is to Keith\u00a0to raise awareness to this great cause through the walks and his book.<\/p>\n

As a social activist performance artist, Keith\u00a0will be creating and walking as a body metaphor by wearing all dark\u00a0clothes and a hood to symbolize the transitional process \u2013 to bring back to light out of the darkness, to air out, and confront through the healing process of dialogue, those inhibitions and predispositions that cast a dark shadow over those who struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide.<\/p>\n

\nin a darkened mind
\nthat’s socially conditioned
\nto think it is possessed
\nby a demon
\nresistent to exorcism \u00a0….
\nwith a fear of discovery
\nof what others may think
\nhow others may react
\nthoughts of repercussion like \u00a0 \u00a0~
\nloss of\u00a0job
\nbeing committed
\nto an insane asylum
\nreputation
\nwill be tarnished
\nwith the lingering stench
\nof the label
\nmentally ill
\nbranded across the\u00a0forehead
\nput
\nin a straight jacket
\nget electroshock therapy
\nbe held
\ncaptive in a drug induced
\ncoma
\nand hear
\nwhispers in the night
\nof words like \u00a0 \u00a0~
\nbi-polar
\nseverely depressed
\nlost soul<\/p>\n

if only
\nif only
\nthoughts of suicide
\nheld secretly in a mind
\ncould be brought to light
\nout of the darkness
\nbe heard
\nwithout judgement
\nor fear of repercussion
\nand then helped to turn
\nsuch thoughts
\ninto a life worth living
\na mind
\nfilled to the\u00a0brim
\nwith\u00a0thoughts \u00a0…..
\n….. \u00a0 \u00a0overflowing\u00a0with love
\nhope and joy
\nforevermore<\/p>\n

\ncan be lonely
\nand sad
\neven though
\nothers are around
\nridden with doubt
\nfear and conflict
\nshadowed
\nwith the possibility of
\nlife’s end
\nhowever
\nsuch moments
\nof affliction
\noffer up
\nthose opportunities
\nfor courage
\nand a chance for
\na renewal
\nof self worth and purpose
\na coming out of
\nthe darkness
\nthat gleefully brings
\nthe spirit of
\njoy and hope
\nback for a while
\nas bright as
\nthe sun
\nnot to be eclipsed
\nby the moon<\/p>\n
